AZBHS Raffle Tag Marketing Timeline
1. You get an opportunity to hunt sheep only (2) ways beginning in 2025. Apply through the regular draw process in the spring, or win one of (3) tags offered through a non-auction process or raffle. There are (3) Special Big Game Tags awarded annually by the Az. Game & Fish Commission. (1) for Mexicana Desert Bighorn, (1) for Nelsoni Desert bighorn and (1) for Rocky Mtn. Bighorn.
2. There are no OTC tags, they are offered through the annual draw process. A total of (156) sheep tags were issued in 2024, (21) being for Rocky Mtn. Bighorn and (135) for Desert Bighorn.
3. The avg. draw odds in 2024 were .03%.
4. You can harvest (1) Desert Bighorn in a lifetime, and (1) Rocky Mtn. Bighorn in a lifetime in AZ. with a draw tag. The Special Big Game Tags exclude the once in a lifetime provision, and people that have already harvested a sheep are eligible for these tags.
5. There is no "waiting period" in AZ.
6. AZ uses a "Bonus Point" system for the regular draw, details available at www.azgfd.gov.
7. There was (1) auction tag offered in the 2024/2025 cycle and (2) non-auction/raffle tags, and in the 2025/2026 cycle, there will be (3) non-auction/raffle tags.auction/raffle Special Big game tags.

1. There are (3) AZ Special "Bighorn" tags offered annually, (2) Desert and (1) Rocky Mountain Bighorn. I think it is very important to refer to this tag we are raffling as a "Rocky Mtn. Bighorn" tag, not just a "Bighorn" tag. (It is referred to as a Bighorn twice in the graphic). At WSF we probably use the Bighorn lingo for a Rocky Mountain, but in AZ, people differentiate it as either a Desert or Rocky Mtn.
2. 100% of the proceeds do not go to the Commission, they are directed to the Arizona Game & Fish Department's Habitat Partnership Committee.
